Message: Mind Your Tongue

What is expected of us when we teach the faith? According to James, Jesus’ brother, a great deal. This week we will be digging into James 3:1-16, which not only is about teaching but also about taking care in what we say overall. In an age in which we can communicate easier than any previous generation, how do we take care in what we say? In an age in which Christianity can be, and is, used to promote diametrically opposed social positions, what are we to say? In an age in which we all believe ourselves to be experts while at the same time expertise is viewed with skepticism, what are we to say? Come as we consider this timely topic.

What is the plan to fill the pulpit in October? We have two ministers who will fill our pulpit as we search for our next bridge pastor. The PNC is still searching for the person God is sending to be the new installed pastor. The first pulpit supply is a Lutheran pastor who is in-between pastorates named Meg Filer. Meg will cover October 6th and 13th.

The second, who you already know, is Melody Young. Melody will cover October 20th and 27th. Pastor Tom will continue to make sure preaching is covered until the new bridge pastor arrives.

In Christ, Pastor Tom Paine
